is the rope tied directly to the anchor or is there a length of chain between the rope and anchor?

Takes a long line if in deep water. Great shallow water anchor.

I don’t have chain tied to it. The rope it tied directly to the anchor. What does the chain do for it? It is long enough for deep water. I have 100’ of rope, tried to get it to hold in 20’ of water. I can get it to bite initially but it won’t hold long enough to hold the boat while we swim. I have an Ulterra I use for fishing, only anchor while swimming.

The chain keeps the arm on the anchor down so the blades will stay in but if you have an Ulterra then just toss the anchor in the trash and is it.

The best anchor I have found is a BOX ANCHOR. You don’t need to let out near as much rope as other anchors and overall just easier to use and more effective —. 2 videos

I bought 5’ of 5/16” chain today as suggested and I will see if that works. If not I’ll check out some of the anchor options y’all gave me to try.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!

That anchor looks a little small for your boat. But possibly with enough chain it could hold.

I have about 8ft of the heaviest chain I could get from Tractor Supply.
That and always consider at least 3 times the depth on the amount of anchor rode you have out.
