I'm watching the MLF right now up north and the catching is insane, I can't help but think its so good because they have closed and open seasons for bass there and they just opened the season. I figure 99% are going to say no but would the fishing here be much better if it weren't open season all year, the human population is growing here. Closing hunting to deer was probably disagreed when first proposed, too long ago for most to remember.

Hell no.

You have to consider that bass are not the predominant species up there that people chase after. They get less pressure there anyway. They also have a much shorter growing season so they use closed seasons. You also are seeing them hit that place during primetime. They have fish in prespawn and spawn. One of the best times to fish there right now kinda like when the Elites hit Fork.

It ain't broke here so I hope no one tries to fix it. We have one of the top if not the best wildlife agencies in the country here. They know what they are doing far more than any trolling motor biologist.

No sir. Some of the best fishing for us not so avid hunters is when some of those guys go to the woods and free up a little room on the lake. I say make the hunting seasons longer.

I'd say take it a step further. Make anglers take educational courses and be certified to fish. I've never been to Squaw, but I've heard its an incredible fishery where people have to make reservations. Lets do that on every lake. Require permits and reservations, regulate catches and non-artificial baits. Eventually, and I mean.. its going to take years, we will get these texas fisheries back to where they were in the 90's.

Don't even mention it, otherwise some ignorant person or group will push to change it.

Thomas those are great ideas! I say also you can only catchh a bag limit per day. 5 fish per day then you get off the water so someone else can get their shot.

It's all about inclusiveness and being fair. Also you have to share your spots and baits with oncoming anglers.

How about a jetski / water ski / wakeboard boat season?

Or...no jetski / water ski / wakeboard boat lakes?

This insanity literally makes me want to vomit. You probably need to move to another state. Take a look at California or Maine. Their wildlife and fishing laws are endless and impossible to follow. Sounds like that would be right up your alley. They probably even have some continuing education classes from the 1980's you can be forced to take.

I'm still holding out some hope that you wrote this tongue in cheek, and I just missed the sarcasm.
