This guy (Mike Knox) will put you on fish. I've been out with him several times over the years and I always limit out on specks & reds. Last time was right after the big freeze.

I've left a couple of messages for a couple of guides. I'm not giving them much notice so I'm anticipating there won't be many openings. I connected with Mike Knox and he's booked all next week.

You might try a web site called fishing booker. I’ve gone thru them several times on short notice all were good trips.

Quick update-went out with Craig Woolly. (www.spifishon.com) All the other guides were already booked. Half day trip for 3 was $500. I'd give Craig a very positive review. First, the fishing has been really tough since the freeze. Craig said the TPW raised the size limit on specks since so many died off. Specks are spawning age when they hit 15+/- inches so TPW raised lower limit to 17 inches. First run of the day was about 12 miles from the marina and we spent the day working our way back hitting 8-9 spots. Of course we caught 50+ 15 and 16 inch specks (3 fishermen) to keep 3 that were over 17. All on live shrimp under popping cork. Action was really non stop which kept my kids entertained. Nice Dargel boat. Good equipment. Craig worked hard with my 13 year old until he could cast his own and bait his own hooks. We took our 3 fish back to the pier (Parrot Eyes) and had them cook fish tacos and fish enchiladas. Food was outstanding and the 3 fish were plenty for a party of 5. Craig kept in communication with several other guides and they all struggled to catch keepers. Seems most were really happy with the 2-3 keepers they did catch.
