Examples of the variety of shapes and actions that catch all fish species.

The French Fry stick has been around a while:

I never use soft stick much but figured - why not use a section of one for the body and attach various tails?
I don't know why they catch fish, but they do!
Here a Joker Tail was added to one:

Took a claw from a craw worm lure and attached it:

Added this thin tail to one:

(Note: the spinner jig has been doing very well this year.)

Every time I've used these lures, they've caught fish. I have no idea why the flat body works better than round grub bodies, but they seem to. Maybe it's because thicker and larger bodies do better especially for larger or more active fish.

Like plastic for linear and hair for vertical. Hair has a more real look when vertical.
