I’m taking a former player of mine to Fork June 30 - July 1 and we are both very excited. I’m not very familiar with the lake but have been on it twice in someone else’s boat. Would anyone be willing to share any info. An area of the lake or depth that is hot right now? We would love to get on some good fish. Thank you in advance for any advise!

The bass are getting close to normal summer patterns. On Saturday afternoon I still found a ton of bluegill ON BEDS up in 3-5 foot of water near shallow grass (alligator weed and the like). I would expect to see numbers of bass still around that in the first 1/3 of the major creek arms. Flip the grass, work the deeper edges of those. Look for timber in transition areas between 6-12 foot of water as well.

I am no expert, so hopefully you can get someone else to assist, but based on what I saw Saturday, I would flip the shallow grass with creature baits, senkos, and worms. Maybe throwing a Frog or crank out the outside edges. I did some graphing out deep myself, and pulled out a C-Rig and just couldn't find schools of them.

The 2 of you should hire a guy for at least a 1/2 day and that will get you on the bass fast. Also will give you a clue on where to fish and with what.

Deep fish I found were suspended in 7-15 fow out over 22-30 fow. Every now and then they would chase up on the humps or to the surface and I would get one but they were pretty finicky. When a thermocline sets up they should be a little more reliable out deep.

We found fish in the grass up in Birch, all on flukes. C-rig old road beds will get you bit. Water was 93 degrees. All fluke fish were caught in less than 7' of water, and all day long. Hope this helps.

Thanks y’all. I’m really appreciating the help. I didn’t know where we were and it was several years ago, but we had one good day and I had sore ribs catching so many 4-6 pounders on C Rig and trying to keep them out of the trees. I almost didn’t want to catch anymore that day………almost!!!!!!!!
