Does anyone know of a lake in Texas where there is a place to stay for several days and has a swimming beach? We would be having four families (13 people total) and would want somewhere for people to swim. I know Lake Bastrop and FCL have swimming areas and but their lodging is limited.

Check the campgrounds run by the Sabine River Authority on Toledo Bend, Louisiana side. Excellent facilities, finding an opening may be the problem. I have stayed at San Miguel and Cypress Bend.

Thank you very much. We have been to Coleto Creek many times. We will not be camping in the Summer time in Texas. We need a big house with a beach front. I have found a few on Sam Rayburn.

With that many folks, I would guess someone is ex-military retired, or active duty, or DOD civilian worker, then they would be eligible to stay at one of the MWR retreats on some of the lakes that have them.
Canyon lake has two that have numerous cabins and a swim beach.
That person(s) would have to be a card holder and be your POC to make the reservations.

Just one more cast!

Powell Park might work. Sam Rayburn Resort near Twin Dikes may not be open right now with the water level. Good luck bud!!

Go big, rent a main lake waterfront house on Cedar Creek. Have you very own dock for swimming.

At this time, no ex-military.

Lake Buchanan. Black Rock park. Water is usually super clear and the hill country is scenic.
