Anyone using double hooks for other than display?

I've been playing around with them recently. I haven't fished them enough yet to decide if they are really worth fooling with, but they are definitely more difficult to tie on. I do think that flies "look" cool on double hooks. Here's a "Rainbow Warrior" (the Salmon fly, not the nymph) from last weekend.

I remember using them on a steelhead trip long ago Haven't tried locally yet but seriously considering trying a few patterns The reason I asked GFFmight be a solution to the difficulty factor Interesting at least As always your work is impeccable, Thanks for sharing

I'd tie a wounded bluegill or shad on one of those hooks. I'd leave both points facing up to keep it weed less and add some lead wire on the hook shafts where they come together to keep that side facing down and the bluegill or shad would be swimming on it's side as if it was wounded. I had a rubber bass lure like that and it slayed them near and over thick grass or cover. I think a fly tied that way would swim even more realistically because of the lighter weight of the fly. Something like this except tied as a fly. Something like this but tied with a double hook. And not nearly as beat up with battle scars LOL!!!
