Had the same thing happen to me right in the middle of my back.

Braid would not have broken.

I had 2 trebles stuck in my face in the cheek about an inch below my eye.

One was buried and the other juts stuck in there.

My dad cut the Rat-L-Trap off with some Klein Diagonal pliers and pushed it through the rest of the way.

Thank goodness the hooks were sharp!

I found that if you pull back on the hook as hard as you can handle so it is sunk shallower and and then turn it as much as you can toward the skin and then push on it until it starts to poke up from inside the skin you can then make a small cut where it is poking up which allows the hook to pop thru the skin a lot easier and with far less pain. YMMV

Did the same thing with the same lure but in my middle finger years back. It sucks. Don’t think the line trick works when they’re bedded straight in like that. Dr had hell getting it out lol.

Line trick has worked well a couple times for me. Tied on new bait and right back to fishing. No way in heck I'm tuff enough to push one through. What process do they use in the ER?

They deadened the thumb with three shots. Then used scalpel to try and cut away flesh but could not back out the hook because of these darned good YM barbs. Then they proceeded to push hook through skin and pulled it out. Doc said it’ll prolly be pretty sore and I’m just now starting to think that he may be right. Nothing that a six of voodoo can’t take care of, right Beer Money? I don’t think so. I got a script of Tramadol but I hate the way those make me feel so I didn’t fill it. Yet, anyways!

I always changed the hooks on yellow Magic’s to the KVD triple grip hooks.

Stuck a many of them in my hand all the way to the bend trying to get a bass off.

Pop r got me once too. right through the palm on my right hand.

I sat on a crankbait right before takeoff, buried it in my left cheek. 200 boats got to watch my partner trying to figure out how to get that hook out of my butt. I told him to just yank the damn thing out and it took 3 hard pulls before it tore loose. That one hurt bad, pushing one through is a lot better.
