Just ordered my new boat Saturday. But left off the trolling motor. Any of you guys run a Ghost trolling motor? Looking for some pros and cons from guys that have been using them. I’ve had Ultrexs on my last few boat. And still might go that way. Just on the fence since I run Lowrance electronics.
Thanks in advance on the input.

Liked it on my last boat and put another one on my new one that just came in. Quieter, easier on batteries and just seem better built.

Get the ghost! It’s flat out just better all around. Ultrex is a great motor but the ghost is better.

I used one for a day. I like it much better than the new Garmin

You will not regret it.

I came from an Ultrex and like the ghost a lot more.

I’ve had both and love the ghost! Stronger, quieter, easier on batts. Links to your Lowrance graphs. A few times I pick a close waypoint and just hit GOTO . Then get my drink, eat, take a break… while it drives. I named mine Pierre… it’s a Fancy French f’r

If you are going to or you are running Lowrance, I would go with the Ghost.
I personally run all Humminbirds and I have the Ultrex. Just seems a better fit all around.

Had Ultrex in the last two boats. Just installed a new Ghost and love it. Much quieter and a bit more powerful I think. You'll freak the first time you hit your foot feed to turn it and the head doesn't move! Took me a while to get used to it.

Installed mine 2 weeks ago. Great motor! The $99 Remote is well worth the investment. No negatives here.

I’ve got a Ghost now and had an Ultrex on my last boat. Ghost is quieter, more powerful, easier to stow, turns into stowing position, and it’s nice to put a 3 and 1 transducer on the trolling motor that fits on the nose cone. And if you run Lowrance then it is a no brainer. BTW, I have a 47” brand new Ghost for sale if you are interested. I put a 52” on my boat. PM me if interested.

The Ghost is a better motor than the Ultrex, I have had 3 Ultrex motors, couple of negatives on the Ghost, it makes a creaking noise, I think it is in the break away knuckle design, thought about spraying some oil on it, the other thing is the bottom key on the left of motor turns on the momentary , it is too easy to hit this button, I have come close to being thrown out of the boat more than once, I need to deprogram it, never use it .

I went from the ultrex to a force.. Nothing wrong with the ultrex but I can link the trolling motor and the graph together and it works out better.. I would say since you run lowrance get the ghost. It will give you more options. If the ghost is anything like the force ( and it probably is) it is a beast and you will be glad you switched. I did..

I had an Ultrex and loved it, no problems at all but I got a great deal on a Ghost and I have Lowrance electronics so I upgraded to it. It is way better. Get the Ghost. Quieter, faster, and stronger. than the Ultrex.
