Hello, I recently purchased a boat that has the ultrex I pilot. I used it for the first time this week and had issues with the peddle being hard to push down at the top. At times I would take my foot off after trolling and it would completely reset as if I pushed the heal down and then stick in that position. At times spotlock would beep twice and not go on. After about a minute then it would work. Motor itself is real jerky when turning as well. It’s a 36volt setup I do know I have two batteries that need replaced but held a charge long enough to at least do some morning fishing. Any ideas or experiences with this out there? Thank you in advance.

Sounds like the batteries. Have them load checked.

The Ultrex is very voltage sensitive. 2 bad batteries need to be replace before you can do any troubleshooting but then again thats most likely the problem.

Thank you, I was hoping that was it.

There is a circuit board in the foot peddle. It needs to be replaced. Ours has done it twice.

Peddle position sensor. Look up ken smith you tube videos on the ultrex. Mine recently did same thing. I called Jones trolling motors and they had me one shipped in 2 days.

I’ve had both problems. The symptoms still say it’s batteries. When the sensor board goes out, the pedal doesn’t work in at least one direction at all.

I'd check the batteries first. Had a similar issue with my ultrex right after i installed it. Turned out to be the jumper wire between the batteries.
