Who all has gone out today to fish for fathers day, or plans to this evening? I got up before 4am to get things ready for some fishing with my dad, and so that I could secure a good spot for us. He doesn't get to go very often so I wanted to have things ready so he could just soak a bait and enjoy the morning when he showed up. We caught a few tiny catfish on Gulp minnows and he landed his first ever gar before the sun came up. Had some great conversations between bites.

Once the sun rose, we got slammed by 3 blues the exact size we like to eat Lots of other fish and two turtles were thrown back, once it started warming up they started biting at an awesome pace. We also met some really friendly guys that drove down from Paradise that had the same idea as us but were boating. We ran out of bait by 9 and couldn't net any more, a bitter-sweet ending to the session. We couldn't complain after the morning we had, but we really didn't want to leave while they were still biting. A lot of great memories were made today and I have y'all's posts and advice to thank for a lot of it. Tight lines and happy Father's Day, all!
