I caught a nice bluegill on a crappie condo yesterday. I have been thinking about learning to fish for sunfish. My question is, is it doable to do some summertime bluegill fishing on some condos? this condo was about 15 foot deep.

I have an acquaintance that lives on Lake Conroe. He fished brush piles and condos for crappie but also fishes for bluegill on them. Does well on both species. He says sometimes the crappie are finicky so he always takes a spinning rig set up for bluegill and fishes with worms for them.

Crappie and Bluegill are a good mix and seem to hangout on the same brush piles. I have caught plenty of crappie and Bluegill at the same locations many of times over the years. Especially on brush piles or in dock slips. thumb

Put an earthworm on instead of a minnow and you will be sunfish fishing if they are there.

I have always caught several Bluegill while fishing for crappie off of marked brush piles. Seems they get along fine together. They also seem to like the same jigs I use for the crappie. If I want numbers of Bluegill I would change to Gulp Alive Leaches.
