I support this. June 19th is on a Saturday this year.

we celebrated fathers day last Saturday because the real fathers day is a mad house.

Get rid of Columbus Day.
The only celebrations for it is by the people who are celebrating that they don't have to work that day.

Texans are used to it since it's been observed forever. It's actually funny watching some people up here get unraveled over it. Never had a problem with it myself.

Federal employees need another paid day off. Double time to those who work it

I remember as a kid in the 60's having some pretty good parties in our little town park for Juneteenth. Lots of people of all colors mixing it up and having fun. That tradition seems to have faded over the years. Maybe this will cause it to pick back up.

It's been a Texas State holiday for some time. Only shocker is that they got a Unanimous vote in the US Senate.

I always forget it's not a holiday.

In the post office the only holiday that you get double time is if you work Christmas Day. All other holidays you get time and a half.

I remember back when I first started. It was ludicrous to me the number of paid holidays.
