I took my 10 year old grand son to the Expo on Saturday and we went to the weigh in- what a show ! I had never been to either and was very impressed in both the quality of the expo vendors and the show that BASS put on. Specifically, my grandson is "eat up" with fishing and when he went into a booth, to a person, the vendors spoke to him "face to face " and treated him with the same respect they give the tournament guys. No one gave him the "brush off" they spent time with him and told him all about their products. He got a Six Gill spinning rod and reel (matching colors of course) and he is all about the Ned Rig now! We got lots of tackle to go with the new set up. He even got into the pool with his mask to inspect its action under water when we got home! The BASS Pros were all gracious, and gladly signed his hat when asked and posed for the obligatory photos. It made his day. He told me on the way to the truck when we were leaving, that "this was the best day ever!". Made my day, too ! Great job BASS. [Linked Image]

And that is what makes all the hard times in a life not so hard! Thanks for sharing, you just brought a flood of memories and maybe a little emotion. The two most influential people in my fishing life were both my grand fathers. One has been gone 40 years this year and the other 8 year.

Thanks again!!!

Good for him..!!! I kinda know the feeling. I went to my first Classic here in Tulsa in 2013. And I was just like that little boy...only 50 years older...:) I got pictures, autographs, talked to everybody and had a ball. My wife took tons of pictures and said I didn't stop smiling from the time we walked in until we left. So yep I know the feeling...and he knows it now as well. Can't be beat and he'll remember it for a long time.

I don't know of any other professional sport or sporting event where the "athletes" are as accessible to the ordinary guys and exceptionally nice. I know Ike gets a lot of flack but I've heard he stays until everybody who wants an autograph or picture gets one, no matter how long. All of the pros I met took time to talk with me and answer any question I had. I'm 52 and I had a great time. My grandfather took me fishing all the time too. He's been gone since 1979 and I still remember many fishing trips. You did good Douglas J. He'll remember that forever.

My wife and I have gone to every Classic and the previous Forrest Wood Cups for the last 12 years. I have always been like a kid when I go. This year I took my grandson who will be in high school this Fall and wants to join the fishing team. I'm not sure who had more fun - him or me watching him. My wallet wishes he had missed Mike Bucca and the Bull Shad booth OMG

I was really impressed with the Expo. We went on Friday and it felt like it wasn't going to be ready to hold the Saturday and Sunday crowds, but I'm curious to hear feedback on that.

It was good enough that I'll consider traveling to the event next year wherever it may be. It's fun to have "the big show" in town in a sport I care about. Couldn't care less if it's was the World Series or the Super Bowl, gimmie "The Classic"
