I have new tires on my boat trailer. They say that the max amount of pressure is 50psi
Should I fill them up to 50 or just run 40 -45? Right now they are squatting a lot..

50psi cold is the right answer

Max out your tire pressure per the tire recommendation and every tire brand is different.

I was running mine at 50. I looked at the max PSI on sidewalls and noticed it was 65. Before I made a trip to Burnet last month I aired them up to max. My towing MPGs jumped by almost 1.

Ok…so….I got a question.
Just bought a brand new trailer. It’s is a single axle trailer and has 6-lug hubs and larger wheels and tires. It was designed to carry almost 1500 lbs more than my original trailer. Both are Skeeter trailers. The original is an EZEXPLODER, the new one is a SkeeterBuilt. The original was leaf springs, new one is Torsion springs. The original had 14x5” 5-lug wheels with 205/75-14 Goodyear Endurance tires. Max pressure was 65 lbs. load range D. I ran 65lbs. Tore up springs, hubs, bent axles, a few blowouts.
New trailer has 6-lug 15x5.5” wheels, 225/75-15 Goodyear Endurance tires. Max Pressure is 80lbs. Load range E.

Should I run 80lbs, even though the trailer decal clearly says 60? Does Skeeter know what they’re doing?m
…again, I had a bass boat trailer made on a Walleye boat trailer platform. My boat is NOWHERE near as heavy as a Deep V dual motor fiberglass boat.

the more air the stiffer the sidewall, the stiffer the sidewall the rougher the trailer will ride.

mine show 65 max, load range E and I run them at 50.

I run 62 in mine but my boat is heavy. I don't notice any difference in ride at 50 or 62.
