My buddy has 2006 Ranger Z20. He's been running the prop it came with when he bought it used back in 2010. It came with a 25P Fury and someone recommend that he switch it out and go to a 24P Tempest. He did and it improved his hole shot and overall performance. I noticed that this prop throws out a pretty good rooster tail while the 25P Fury did not. Why the rooster tail now and is that good or bad? Thanks

The tempest is a stern lifting prop. The fury more of a bow lifting prop. Because the tempest is running closer to the surface due to its designed lift he is now throwing a rooster tail.

The rooster tail should be about to the top of his cowling, if it’s there now, don’t change a thing.
