I am trying to figure out which y cable to use with a mega 360 and helix 12 g4n msi so I can have mdi. This is with the external transducer mounted on non link ultrex.

You need the 9 M360 2DDI Y cable. It has the female 14-pin plug for the MEGA 360, a female 7-pin plug for the Humminbird transducer and the male 7-pin plug for the display connection.

Makes no difference if you use a MSI+ or MDI+ transducer on the trolling motor, you will only get 2D/DI/Temp from it using the Y cable.
