Fishing technology has come a long way! Wonder what the cost difference in electronic equipment on a boat compared to 10 years ago? noidea

I feel like they dropped the ball on this one. In my useless opinion, the HB Live images look like junk compared to Garmin. I have been excited about this until now because I wanted to just run all Birds. Looks like I will have to add a Garmin graph for LiveScope now. bang

I agree that the images are not very impressive. You know they cherry pick the best images for the marketing video and that was the best they came up with? i couldn't tell you what kind of species those were. did they sacrifice image quality just to avoid having a black box extra piece of equipment?

my other biggest concern was (and still is) the forward cone angle for Mega live is TOO WIDE in my opinion to fish like i want to.

i would love to have all birds but looks like i'm sticking with my garmins and Force setup for a few more years!

I’m not gonna lie…I am very happy to see that! Lol. I was afraid it was going to be awesome and I was going to regret all of the money I had spent on Garmin stuff over the past year and a half…that makes me glad I didn’t wait!

Looking forward to see how you adapt the scope to the yak.

I'm a Humminbird guy 1st and foremost however I believe I will be sticking to my tried and true Livescope for Live Sonar.

Been using LS on my yak for awhile now. I made it portable enough that I can remove everything but the mount for the screen. For the black box, I bought a plastic 30 caliber ammo box and placed 2 batteries running in parallel inside the box and mounted the black box to the exterior. By undoing the power, network, and transducer cable, that whole box comes inside to recharge the batteries. Those batteries only run the the black box. The screen runs off its own battery. I’m using David’s shorter Poleducer for yaks and it works fine.

Fishin’aholic2, you are going to love having LS on your yak.
