Hey ALL:

I am thinking about going to Whitney tomorrow and I am just curious if anyone knows if any of the boat ramps are open.

I know that the CoE and State ramps are closed, but just curious if any of the private ones are open?

I know that as of Monday Harbour Master boat ramp was still being used, but with them still letting water out of PK and Granbury I am not sure if that is still the case.

Thanks for any help.

Kyle

All I've heard lately is private/personal ramps. One way up river. Ham park, or something like that. I've never been that far up river.

I called Ham Creek yesterday Wednesday and they said to their knowledge no ramp is open in the river between Whitney and Granbury. Last Sunday I drove to Nolan River Park and I couldn't even get close to the park the water was over the road. So far I know for sure Ham Creek, Kimball Bend, Chisholm Trail and Plowman Creek are close I think it is going to take days before we can get back in the water.

Thanks that is what I am afraid of. I am coming from Weatherford and I really don't want to haul a 20 foot boat to a lake where I can't even get in hah. Everything up here is pretty much closed too. I know we need the rain, but this is just crazy.

All ramps listed on the COE site for Whitney show to be closed due to flooding. I did talk to a guy yesterday that said he heard Harbor Master was letting people launch there until they just become inoperable. That's not a great ramp anyway, but may be the only option at this point. You might double check that though because that's at least 3rd hand information for to me.

Yeah I heard a rumor that they were letting people in, but I cannot find a good working phone number for them to call. The guy I am going with is looking at some of the guides out there to see if they are still doing anything, but who knows. That ramp wouldn't be bad if I was still in my aluminum boat, but my used Phoenix might not like it as much heh.
