This was our first night trip. Got off to a late start and didn't get on the water until after dark. Recent rains have left numerous trees floating down the river, so low and slow was the rule. Just wish the fish were biting as well as the bugs. Ended up with only 4. The first three were all 5 lbs (2 channels and 1 blue). At 4am we anchored below Guntersville Dam to try and take advantage of the morning bite. This resulted in our only trophy catch, a 28lb blue. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/06/full-3327-99149-samuel.jpg)
Boats are like Strippers. They work until you quit throwing $100 bills at them.

My daughter and I fished Guntersville last summer. Spent the night on the water with Josh Brown from Backwoods Catfishing and had an absolute blast. I am really looking forward to getting on the Tennessee River again. That 28 pounder is a beauty, but in that body of water you could easily triple the weight. That's what makes that river so exciting to me...
