HIt the lake today with my son at around 8am... Was mostly cloudy with some good wind. I am trying to learn how to catch sand bass and so have been trying to figure out how to read the sonar and locate the fish. Started in about 20 feet of water, on a flat in deeper water and only got about 7 or 8... so moved to some main lake humps by the dam, but there was nothing there. Think I saw a guide check those main lake humps while I was out there and left, so that kind of confirmed for me I needed to move as well.
Hit another part of he lake I know that holds a few and low and behold it kept us fairly busy for the next few hours. When all was said and done caught about 80 to 90 Sandbass, a few catfish and a few drum...
Didn't keep any, was just out there to enjoy some time together... all fish came on spoons/jigs.

Which part of the lake did you find them?
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, he'll be gone every weekend.

Are the sandies still biting? Sorry, yes there are there, went again today... The thing with this time of year for me it seems they are on the move all the time... you get lucky to get on a school, fish it and if you dont get any bites for a bit, go to another spot...
