My wife is wanting to get our 15yr old a tackle sub for his birthday. I know it is probably better to just go buy what u want, buy he has bought one at academy before and he thought he won the lottery...So re there any that rise above the others? Thanks.

hit youtube....check out the most recent months unboxing....you can probably search "May LTB unboxing" or something like that for the various options out there.

My opinion....the Lucky and mystery tackle box subscriptions are trash now. Youll see on the unboxing vids cuz its got worse....but theyll basically send 1 good bait and a bunch of cheap off brand other stuff. I forgot the name....but I believe the youtuber "Smallmouth Crush" was backing one that seemed beefy that had tiered levels of varying price, so youre kinda paying for what you get. Not a fan enough to try them...but the 6th sense sub sack seemed like a fair pack.

I don’t mind the one that sixth sense does. They have different levels you can buy also.

After receiving the mystery tackle box as a gift I’m extremely anti. Just no point. Maybe for a kid that doesn’t actually fish but 85% wasn’t even usable for me. Just random tackle show samples of products they can’t get Reid off.

When did you get this gift?

back in the days before the youtubers were big...it was a killer deal! Mystery tackle box was always better, but even lucky tackle box would have 2-4 solid baits that you would for sure use, it just might not be your ideal color. MTB would always be pretty good top to bottom. But theyve slowly gone downhill to where they are now...and its borderline a grift at this point with some of them. Theyll put a $5 value on a bag of no name worms to meet their advertised values...kinda shady imo.

But that monsterbass and 6th sense still seems legit from what i seen. They are perfect for kids or people starting because you really do get to try new stuff that you wouldnt necessarily buy on your own.

Typical YouTube garbage. A lot are just amateur pond hoppers with no knowledge in fishing lakes. I guess they make kids laugh so I rate them with cartoons.

Was probably 4 years ago. At least 50% was house brand linker hunt or catch-co. Got one decent tungsten jig and a few assorted hooks but there wasn’t a single soft plastic I got that was worth fishing, a pack of strike king lizards was probably the closest to something actually fishable plastic wise.

I would get the 6th sense subscription. You can get different ones and you won’t get anything that you wouldn’t ever use.
