You know you raised them right when your son wants a guided alligator gar trip for his graduation present Anyone near Houston have 1st hand experience with a guide for targeting these monsters? Neither of us have ever tried fishing for them, and I'd really like to put the odds in our favor by going out with someone who knows what they're doing and where to go. TIA

Hey Brine, I took my son on a trip with Mr. Kirkland several years ago & had an absolute blast. https://alligatorgarfishing.com/

Kirkland was featured on River Monsters! Was cool to watch. I'll suggest Henry Martin of Catching Dinosaurs. Really great conservation-minded guide. https://www.facebook.com/CatchingDinosaurs/

Mind you, you're in the perfect area for it! The Trinity below Livingston is but a stone's throw away.

Follow Up: Booked with Kirk Kirkland. Had a great trip. Landed 6-7 in 6 hours. Big fish was right at 100# ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/08/full-112332-108276-219797993_10224101698877554_6648996267832481923_n.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/08/full-112332-108277-219297665_10224101699237563_5817914945515169936_n.jpg)
