About to give Lowrance a try for the first time just to change things up. In regards to the map cards the majority of the information I have read comparing the two mentioned mapping choices seem to be a year or two old. Does anyone have a recent opinion of what makes one better over the other? I am a central Texas guy so the lakes I fish the majority of the time are Whitney, Limestone, Belton, Waco and Stillhouse. I appreciate the help.

I have both C-Maps and Navionics. Navionics provides more details at this time, but I was told to update the C-Maps as there is more detail available. Not sure what that means, but if it matters, I pretty much only use Navionics for the lakes around here.

I use Navionics for Lowrance around this part of the country. The CMAP they have out for $35 is junk in my opinion. Hopefully, before the end of time, they will produce the high definition CMAP+ for this part of the country. From my understanding, in the southeast US where they have the CMAP+ (~$130) the high definition is worth the money, better than Navionics....

Require a whole lot of luck...
