My blood is still pumping after being fortunate enough to catch the biggest bass in Honey Hole's 33 year history, beating the previous record of 10.40 which was held by three different people. It was the last bass of the day and a nasty looking storm was headed our way when I set the hook and she immediately hung me up in a bush three feet under the surface in about 14 feet of water. I told Bill she's still on and it feels like a good one and as soon as I said that she swam out of the bush and that big mouth and body came flying out of the water and we knew that we had a problem as there was about 30 yards of bushes between us and the bass of a lifetime!!! We got really lucky as she came straight to the boat then made one final dive right in front of us and I just had to trust my line holding my thumb on the spool as she was headed to the bushes. I finally got her turned, Bill netted her and it was total celebration on the boat as Bill and Dirk knew it was a new record. She weighted in at 11 pounds even and was a beautiful bass... I caught her on a Greenpumpkin Senko Texas Rigged with a 3/16th ounce pegged weight on 20 pound Seagar Flouro and my trusty Dobyns rod.
Bill and I were doing our Moritz Chevrolet sponsor show and it's going to be a good one we had a great day on the water!!! This episode will air on VOD mid July and will air on TV at a date to be determined. Huge thank you to Bill, Dirk and Mark for making Honey Hole TV the best fishing show in the Country!!!
