My leader spool of FC has finally got towards the end.....and I wasnt happy with the second half of the spool, too much memory. It was an old spool in its defense...but im considering trying a new line.

I use Assassin because i feel it has the best abrasion resistance from the lines ive tried (red label, invisx, sniper)....its also one of the cheaper options....kinda like the Yo Zuri top knot. Top Knot also advertises their abrasion resistance, and im kinda liking that it seems to be similar in price to Assassin....im wondering if that price point is where you can find cheaper, not as supple FCs that have better abrasion resistance than some of the higher end stuff like tatsu and shooter 🤔

Price is good....but abrasion resistance is the most important factor for me. Id buy a spool of tatsu if it excelled over the rest in the abrasion resistance department. Wondering if anyone has tried both lines, and found Top Knot comparable to Assassin in terms of abrasion resistance or in any other ways? Do you all have any other line recommendations for FC line that can handle rocks that are great at micro nicking lines and good abrasion resistance over all?

Big fan of the Yo Zuri top knot. best Fluorocarbon for the price, Of course Yo Zuri is not a popular brand so doesn't garner much attention. Low memory, abrasive resistant.

The Yo Zori Top Knot (16#) I tried this week had too much memory, coiled bad as it comes off spool.

I tried the 20 lbs, did not like it, same issue, really stiff feeling, bad memory, I like a deal but its worth spending a bit more to get a better line IMO

sounds like it was put on loose because when I put it on tight and let it sit on the reel for a day or two it has no issues.

20lb is a thick line no matter what brand...

Another vote for the Top Knot. Good abrasion resistance and I find it quite manageable. Price is great too.

I’ve had good luck with Top Knot. For the price, I’m satisfied with it.

very good to read all this.....let me ask. Have you guys found a FC that is better at abrasion resistance than Top knot...or what is your alls opinion on the most abrasion resistant FC youve used? I know theres lots of Abrazx fans out there....but i had bad luck with them when i tried them 4 or 5 years ago. settled on assasin, gonna try top knot....but im wondering if theres any im missing. I know its only $20-30 bucks....but im getting into swimbaits and those $20 can add up to a swimbait real quick! LOL

I just bought some top knot at academy for first time because of price, I like it better than seagure red label now. I will say it was on older level wound spool, there were new ones that weren't level wound. I used to like red label when they level wound it, when they stopped doing that it became much harder to throw without backlashing and seemed stiffer, don't now if that is the level winding or they changed the formula of the string. It’s not cheap but my fluoro of preference is Trilene 100%

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!
