Got an email earlier asking if I wanted to be a backup marshal in case of no shows.

Tell em NO, but you’d gladly fish it if an angler is a no show! Haha.

Generally speaking I have to p off the back of boat at least twice and possibly take a number 2. I see this as a real problem with spectator boats, cameras, etc.. what is your plan for this situation

I have a pop up dressing room and Glade on the pontoon, if that’s your reason for not committing to the party barge yet.

A better question may be, how do you think an angler would act if he turned around to see somebody dropping the kids at the pool in his livewell? Lol

That's not needed, I'll just hang over the side

Put a cull tag on it.. watch his face when he goes to pull that out for the weigh in... lol

I for one think this is cool... and hope to see a follow up story and pictures from the experience.

You would think it would be a perk for BASS members to have a chance to win the chance to be a marshal, paying just seems a bit off to me, more power to the ones who are willing to pay but it feels like BASS is being greedy, are you required to split gas and tip the angler too LOL

Making marshals pay gives them incentive to actually show up.

I would pay $500 for a chance to learn, share a boat, and be around the group of anglers that are way better than I. It's 3 days of on the water training, aka guide service, where you get to see all sorts of opportunities you may have overlooked. Heck from what I hear, you get one heck of a prize pack as well. I would be asking about graph setup, what they're thinking, etc...as long as I wasn't imposing or throwing them off their game.

It's an investment to me.

Yes you pay and it's worth every penny as long as you're not a tight A$$. Very cool and memorable experience.
