He may be wealthy beyond our wildest dreams, but once the cloud of Unicorns and Rainbows vaporizes so will his wealth eg...Tesla stock. The smoke and mirror spending and building we are paper rich but cash poor will at some point come to a head and someone will be left holding their hat in their hand.

Tesla is a solid car , built well and should last a long time . Hate em or not , they are here to stay . An interesting offspring of Tesla battery use is how the new trucks will have a 48V battery added to a V8 or V6 . Dodge already has it in the eTorque and I have heard the new Tundra will also have that option . Imagine a V6 Tundra , with some type of " eTorque " and well over 400HP --- getting 25MPG and capable of towing almost anything . Tons of learning from Tesla's designs will go into every EV and hybrid .

The tech is forced upon us thru gov funding and regulations that without the industry wouldn't have even made it off the ground. You don't like him. Thats fine. The same funding was available to everybody. Nobody forced people to buy into it and its still a car for advocates but that will change. I believe the EV technology was close to being there when he started. He saw the potential while nobody else did. Or he did things others couldn't.

100 years ago, people were bemoaning how impractical a Model T was compared to a horse.

So you acknowledge that the market didn’t choose electric cars and that it was the government who is picking winners and losers? And others did. He wasn’t special. He just got the best press.

I don't see how you got that opinion from what I posted. Sorry but no and no and no.

Oil and gas lobby doesn't have the power it once had. They easily crushed the Saturn EV1 in the mid 90s

Been in a 7-11 lately? Ours are packed and it is hard to find a spot to park. So, all the people who own convenience stores are going to give up the merchandise turns on two parking spots? I seriously call BS on that one. Maybe for $30 an hour or so.

If you ever travel from Norcal to Socal on Interstate 5 , there is a hotel just past the Harris Ranch cattle operation . It's the only large hotel in the area . About halfway to LA from Bay Area . It has approx 200 spaces just for EV charging ---- and almost every spot has a Tesla in it . Brilliant decision by the owners of the hotel , it's literally the only place to charge a Tesla if your going to SoCal . You think it's a coincidence that the hotel doubled it's pricing after completing all the EV charging stations ?

You think it's a coincidence that the hotel doubled it's pricing after completing all the EV charging stations ? I recently stayed at a hotel like this. It had a row of about 25 vacant Tesla charging stations and since the regular parking lot was completely full, that's where I parked my diesel truck and boat.

so what do you do, sit at a charging station for hours as it charges? Walk over to the Adult Only store.
