Looking at chasing some Striper at Texoma this summer primarily with live shad.
Is there a preferred circle hook size to use at Texoma?

Hook size should be dependent on bait size

Size 1 or 2 Kahl for threadfins that size. 2/0 or 3/0 for gizzards that size

I actually use really small circle hooks on a loop knot for shad probably a size 6. I fish with kids so circle hooks hook the fish automatically and the small size gives the fish plenty of action. We fished yesterday and they wanted cut bait so you can deep hook them with chunks and the hooks are a little harder to get out if the bite is red hot. They will also bend sometimes and if they do replace them or they will snap off… https://youtu.be/QTjWxKYn0VE

I typically run 3/0-4/0 Gama Octopus. Overall bait size determines the hook size for me. I know some guys run considerably smaller ones.
