I am thinking about doing the 8 mile or so trip in a few weeks once all the water settles down from the lake whitney dam down to the bridge crossing at Dicks. Any suggest on spots to spend more time fishing on the river or what baits work best as i have not done this float yet.

Great stretch of river. It's probably going to be a few more weeks before the flows get back to normal.
I recommend going an extra 1/4 mile down river and taking out at Spivey Crossing.
We have a sweet kayak ramp with a slide and a winch.

I didn't know that was there. Will definitely check that out next trip. I love Richard but that trek up that hill with the Bonafide just about kills me.
