Only swim bait I have ever used is a fluke type with a weighted hook.
Wanting to step out and learn more about them. Mainly interested in the plastics for now.
lengths, weights. pre rigged with hooks or rig yourself.

Yamamoto swim senko on an underspin would be the next thing to try.
Start with the four inch on an Owner 3/0 flashy swimmer underspin to gain confidence.
Then the 5.5 inch on an Owner 5/0 flashy swimmer.

Plastic 5 inch hollow belly swimbaits were my favorite baits to throw.... until Jeff at Fringe Tackle quit making them.  ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/06/full-76913-98598-dscf8972_zpsavrf7zco_2.jpg) The smaller you use the more bites you'll get, just make sure you have the right size hooks.. If you like that Fringe swimbait mold and don’t want or can’t get Scottsboro, which is the same mold, try Ignite Baits. www.ignitebaits.com It’s the same mold and offered in better colors. My personal favorite is FRS. They also have a swimbait in the Top Shelf Baits mold as well. These and the 6th Sense Whale are my go to’s. 1 oz swimbait head on the Ignite and 5/0 weighted Owner on the Whale. 7’3 Heavy rod both of these

Keitech 4.8 with a 5/0 (light) Owner Twist Lock
Will catch everything from a clam to a stick (And Everything inbetween)
*Swap the original SM Twist lock out with the LG OWNER "Screw Lock" to increase the life of the bait if you want...helps alot with any "Screw-lock" style setup

I asked and Jeff told me he sold his molds to the people who bought out Ignite at about the same time. So if you're buying Ignite you're getting close to the original. Unless something has changed at Scottsboro I wouldn't touch those with a ten foot pole. I tried them and the colors faded after a month and the bait got mushy soft.
Not to jack your thread, some of you that have used Fringe's swimbaits with success might like to know Jeff went back to his roots of worms, sticks and craws.
