Caught a good one at Monticello, yesterday.. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-76913-98389-e96df673_cfe8_49b4_a01f_3c040c71c650.jpeg) Caught on 7 inch Fringe Tackle swim bait and 8/0 Owner Flashy Swimmer. Bad pics of fish on measuring board... didn’t have my reader glasses.. but it was almost 23 inches. Would guess over 7 lb.

Thanks, I lost one that looked the same size, on same bait, that buried itself in pad stems that I couldn't get to before it shook off. Otherwise a slow day for me. Was getting bit and not hooking up early and decided to go big the rest of day. One of my old fishing friends since high school was tearing them up on spinner bait to 2.5 lbs. Water level was as high as I've seen it and very stained from recent rains. Lots of others on the water today, including a two person bass buster type boat with 6 hp. Gotta do some work if you want to fish monti.
Oh, and I forgot my reading glasses and couldn't see squat on graph or trying to retie knots... didn't wear waders as it was suppose to warm up and didn't want to have fish slime in my lap so I put measuring board down towards my ankles to take pic... it was a bad picture day all around... couldn't see settings on my good camera and didn't take many pictures, afraid I was going to lose another Iphone after replacing the last one a couple of weeks ago when fish kicked it out, and just really was a frustrating day. Got home around 11 pm..

You sir are truly an iconic kayak fisherman. I hope you keep posting these great trip reports. It keeps the dream alive for those of us that wish we could catch bass like that. I really appreciate getting information about the lures you use to catch em. I'll definitely be throwing a swim bait more in the future.
