Jc’s Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report.
As the Admiral Seas It
Fishing Report: 05/23/21 to 05/29/21
Stop by our Office for up to Date Fishing Report

Pretty good this week at the 95 and the 1150 spot on lures and live bait.
We caught and released 2 100 pounds marlin on Tuesday, a 150 pounds marlin on Thursday, a 100 pounds marlin on Friday and a 110 pounds marlin today.

Not much action this week, we caught 1 dorado on Friday and 3 today at La Herradura on lures. Water warming up, maybe dorado will start showing up sooner.

Few ones from 5 to 30 pounds starting to show at the 95 spot and La Herradura on cedar plugs, we caught 2 on Monday, 10 on Tuesday and 3 on Friday.

No reports of wahoo this week.

No reports of Rooster this week.

Inshore fishing has been slow this week, very few sierras, few white bonitas, few small grouper and few snapper caught this week at the Lighthouse, Gray rock, Chileno and Santa Maria.

Come on down the weather is great the town is not too packed.

Stop by the office and say hi and get the up to date fishing report.

See you all in Cabo - JC.

Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: The outlook for Cabo San Lucas in the two weeks ahead shows the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 30°C, with a high for the two weeks of 32°C expected on the afternoon of Thursday 3rd. The mean minimum temperature will be 21°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Monday 31st at 19°C. The coming 14 days will remain predominantly dry. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate.

From The Admirals Kitchen!
Seared tuna sashimi with avocado salad
A Scandi take on sushi using lightly seared tuna served with a spicy salsa. An easy but impressive starter.

For the seared tuna sashimi with avocado salad
500g/1lb 2oz fresh tuna loin (sushi grade)
2 tbsp olive oil
100g/3½oz pine nuts
4 avocados, peeled and chopped
1 bunch coriander, roughly chopped
5 drops sesame oil
sea salt and black pepper

For the dressing
50ml/2fl oz soy sauce
1 lemon, juice only
1 jalapeño chilli pepper, thinly sliced

1. Rub the tuna with a little olive oil and season with sea salt and black pepper. Heat a frying pan and fry the tuna briefly to the pan, so that it just simply gets a little browned on the outside (it should still be completely raw inside).

2. Slice the tuna as thinly as possible and lay out the slices on a serving dish.

3. Toast the pine nuts with a little salt in a dry frying pan. Mix the avocado and coriander with the pine nuts. Season with salt, black pepper and sesame oil.

4. For the dressing, mix half the jalapeño chilli pepper with the soy sauce and lemon juice. Spoon it over the fish. Garnish with the remaining jalapeño and serve.

Gin & Tonic

3 oz. gin
3 lime wedges
4 oz. tonic water

Add the gin to a highball glass filled with ice. Squeeze in lime wedges to taste. Then add tonic water and stir to combine. Garnish with a lime wedge.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs. You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
