Doing research now on a bathroom remodel. Take out everything in a 1975 built bathroom. Remove tub and sliding door shower and replace with a larger open tiled shower.
If you have one you like and could post pictures I would appreciate it. It will be a walk in shower with no tub and perhaps a bench type seat on one end. I have noticed a ton of options for the shower head and other plumbing.
Thanks for any input.

Floor and Decor is a great store. If you have one near you, go walk around it, may give you a lot of ideas. I think their pricing is excellent, as well. Comparable pricing to a lowes, or home depot, but much higher quality products; and astronomically larger selection.
If you are somewhat handy; plumbing in 2021 has been made very easy with pex piping, and quick connect fittings (and they even make transitions to turn into copper for your showhead, mixing valve, etc. There is very minimal skill involved with pex piping. Knocking down the walls, and reframing, and hanging backerboard also is not very difficult - you can watch a few youtube videos and pick it up; faily easily..... the plumbing, framing and rock dont require any specialized, expensive tools and are fairly simple. You do that and the demo yourself, buy the materials yourself - you'll save quite a bit.
Also nice thing about floor and decor, there is always tile guys buying materials at the store...... find one that looks hungry and see if he wants some side work.....
Just helped a buddy re-do his master bathroom. We removed a tub, coverted it to a walki n shower..... (his wife picked the tiles- and they were expensive--- etc) -- either way- we did an entire bathroom remodel for about $3,500..... Yes, thats still some scratch, but considering a contractor would have charged 15 to 20k; it's still major savings.... and $750 of that, was hiring the guy we met at floor and decor to re-tile the entire master bath and new walk in shower......
just my .02. good luck.
