I need to replace a couple rods that have seen better days.
What are your favorite Squarebill & Chatterbait rods under $200.00?
I've been fishing a Dobyns Fury 705cb for squarebills, and a Shimano Intenza 7'2" medium heavy/moderate glass for chatterbaits and some mid range cranks and they have worked well for me, but both have had tip tops/eyes replaced, seen considerable use/abuse and are ready to serve as backup rods now.
Thanks TFF Ray

Experimented with 6-7 squarebill rods before I found the one I like most. Dobyns Champion 704cb glass. I also have a Dobyns Champion 735cb glass for my chatterbait rod and couldn't be happier. I have never fished with their Fury series but since that's more in your price range then go for it. I throw more 1.5's than 2.5's and the 704 action is perfect. Slightly lighter than your 705. Both of my Dobyns are light, sensitive, blah blah but the one thing I've appreciated the most about these rods vs the other brands I tried is that I rarely lose fish. They load up in a way that's hard to explain but even with the squarebill's smaller hooks I can't remember the last time a fish came unbuttoned.

The 704cb is definitely on my short list even though its a bit higher than I typically spend on rods. Shallow cranking is something I have confidence in, & I spend a lot of time doing so I am more than willing to get better gear for it.

Falcon All Around MH/MF. Has worked very well. I have the Lowrider but should be able to get it in Expert or Cara if you want to spend the money.

I'm a big fan of the Dobyns Champion glass rods. I throw squarebills on the 705 and chatterbaits on both the 735 and 736.

The fury 705cb is my favorite rod for square bill. I would look at the equivalent in the champion series. I don't know how the champion 704 equates to the fury 705 though. I am losing chatterbait fish on every rod out there. My last try was siera 734. Still searching here
