Headed to Grapevine... Never bass fished it. Not expecting much but better than work. What's your thoughts on the lake? Decent quantity? Quality? Give me your opinions.

Lake is currently 7.59 feet above normal. Fishes like most other lakes with good days and bad days. Lake does have smallmouth.

Lake is WAAAAYYYYY up...seems like the fish are scattered. Should be awesome if things can stabilize and before they move out to deeper water.

I would head to the high water ramp if you want to launch.

We fished yesterday with no luck but that has been our story all year. Definitely use the Katie's Woods high water ramp. Most other ramps are closed. We launched from Meadowmere yesterday but the water was almost to the top of the ramp. Good luck

I fished it Sun, Mon, tues, and wed. Noticed moon was almost full on my way home on monday. Tues fished from noon to midnight, then 2-4am with black spinnerbait, worm, etc. Was getting my butt kicked and I covered a ton of water up near the buck brush. Slowed down and fished the brush, and I mean inside the brush and got bit. They were in the brush, and behind it.. Wed (Noon-830pm), went out and slow rolled a spinnerbait thru brush that was just under the waters surface and got some small fish but no good ones. Only the bushes that were completely submerged, were ones I got bit on.
Even the sandbass have been kind of off with the water. I am also going to go up and look around as there is tons of water with mega cover up the lake. Last time this happened in 2019 the sandbass were up the lake and it was amazing fishing.
Wed morning before I left (4am) I did some scanning of the bank with a bright light and saw many gar but also saw some good fish in a foot or less. I stayed in the lower end, and they are there but they have a bad case of lock jaw.. Hopefully the lake will settle down, but Wx report saying rain.. It is tough, but I like tough fishing.

BTW, fished deep sun, mon and it sucked.. Tues, and wed shallow was small fish. But lake was going up at least a foot a day, and i fished thru some monsoon rain cells..

Really tough right now, might look around for a lake that is not broken for some action.
