Applies to boats less than 26 feet operating on plane or above displacement speed SPRINGFIELD, Va., March 15, 2021 – There are new engine cutoff device wear requirements for recreational boat operators as part of the January 1, 2021, passage of National Defense Authorization Act that included a U.S. Coast Guard Reauthorization. Honestly, I thought it was that way several years ago. Regardless, I’ve been doing it for several years. I saw a guy thrown out of his boat once on Fork, it wasn’t fun.

If you don’t care to be leashed with a kill switch lanyard then check out the wireless system by Fell Marine. Works great and is approved by TP&W.
