Anybody ever surf fish there? Will be there next week and gonna give it a go. Any tips would be appreciated. TIA

Was there a few years ago. I caught whiting with fish bites and then used cut whiting to catch bigger fish. Caught a shark, a few Spanish mackerel, and a giant stingray this way. Bluefish are an easy catch with shrimp on bottom. I saw several large sharks, but the state of Alabama didn't allow me to persue them in 2018, but they're there. I tried fishing for specks and reds using typical Texas techniques, but there were no takers. I learned a lot from the Gulf Shores fishing forums. It's very interesting. Good luck.
