Fellows i have had a pond that I have been trying to establish fish in. It is small about 1/4 acre so I have concentrated on bluegill, red ear, and channel cat. I have stocked fat head minnows as a prey specie. I also have a feeder on the pond just barely throwing anything until I get something eating. The pond is 16 feet deep with good clay bottom. I see no minnows around the shore or anything coming up. It has been about a year since first stocking. Is there someplace to take a water sample to see if there is a problem? I am getting ready to try again I have recently cut trees and placed them in the pond for cover to try to help the survival rate. Any ideas???

Talk to your county ag agent.

See who your water company uses. Drainage districts also test water. TPWD has people who work environmental cases, as well as some counties. TCEQ could also point out local labs.

Talk to your county ag agent. 1+ Also, if it has been a year since you stocked, then try fishing with an earthworm on bottom. I would throw out 6 or 7 rods in several locations. Fishing should give you an idea of what has survived and will be good information on how to proceed.
