Anyone here familiar with Lonestar Lake? I see what look like 2 public ramps, one next to Jenkins Fire Department and one at Lone Star City Park. What are the ramps like? How many vehicles with trailers can you park at each one? A group of about 7-10 of us are looking at making a trip there but we have no idea if we'll even be able to park at either one. Also, is this lake wide open or is there timber in the lake?

The Lone Star City Park has really nice brand new ramp and docks. Your group will have no problem parking there. It would be difficult to park 8 to 10 trucks at the fire department ramp.

Thanks, I was going by google and the park didn't look too good from whenever that image was taken, but if it has all been redone it should be ok.

The lake is pretty much open. Not any timber, but lots of grass and lilly pad stems.

What GTrigg said. The area by the fire station between the first island and the bank where the lily pads are is also shallow.
Not the best picture but north of the yellow line has stumps and the shallow point area runs several hundred feet out from the bank. You can look on Google Earth Pro and go back to 2012 and see the shallow area very well. When headed to the dam, it is at the point on the right. You will need to swing wide to the left out in open water to go around it. Good luck.

The lake is very popular I have seen weekends that there were two tournaments going at the same time. I’m not sure how to find out about tournaments on this lake, but it can get crowded.

On the other hand, I have heard that the dam area is a great fishing area.
