It's a male white crappie. The males turn black during the spawn due to hormones and sunlight. The one to the left of that one is a black crappie as it has speckled spots and no vertical bars.

The best way to tell a black crappie from a white crappie is to count the dorsal fin (top fin) spines. The sharp pointed parts of the fin are the spines and the soft parts are the rays. A white crappie has 5 or 6 dorsal spines while a black crappie has 7 or 8 dorsal spines.
