Pulling dead trees or large limbs from a bank out to make fishing spots? I've often wondered but noticed some along the new water level and had the thought again. Not sure if I can get it 50-60 yards off the shoreline before it just sinks or would you need a way to get it to sink?

Natural structure is the best structure period. Putting it in the right location is the most important.

iv done it many times.it's actually hard to get it to sink..had to tie many big rocks to it so it would go down. put like 6 in the same spot makes a good pile.iv also drug them back to my boat slip and sunk them in there!

I went to Waxahachie yesterday and the city had a crew out cleaning up the shoreline. They had 5-6 piles of limbs that would have made great structure.

I saw a lot of that piled up close to the ramp on Thursday. Different lake yesterday and saw a lot of fairly large dead trees that could be towed out but wasn't sure if I would have to find a way to get them to sink or if they would sink on their own before I get them to the spot I want. Had a blast on the Wax Thursday even if most were undersized fish, caught a ton off a lay down.

Those big dead trees are the worst to sink. They take so much more weight to sink than green limbs. Those big willows almost start sinking as soon as they hit the water LOL. I am going to make some videos this summer on brush pile sinking.

I am going to tune in on those. I feel like I could do some good if I knew where more structure was located to fish.
