I have a 12" HDS Live. Would ideally like to add Active Target, given the investment in the unit, deck space, etc. Have only fished with a Livescope 9" on a buddies boat. Love it. Trying to decide between just adding the Active Target or adding a Garmin unit and Livescope. How has your experience with Active Target been? Any objective opinions between the two? Thoughts on 12" Active Target versus 9" Livescope from anybody who has seen both?

Appreciate it.

Really Love my Active Target and how I can go from Down/Forward to Scout with the bracket that comes with it and without any tools. I had a partner in the boat with me that stated it had better detail than Garmin. They both probably work well, so I would go with what you have, since that is Lowrance, stay with Lowrance.

The big issue is GETTING the product. Mine has been on backorder for 2+ months. My recent inquiry on when I might expect to actually receive it made me wish I had not thought about it or asked. This is possibly going to give Lowrance a black eye. On top of not having it, most want you to pay for it to be in line. (I don't know if that's a dealer action, or one driven by Lowrance corporate.) I bought a Live 12 AND the Active Target with the assumption I'd do the $500 combo promotion for rebate. The "submit your request window" closes in days, but I have no unit for a serial number. Lowrance's issue is (currently) looking like it's going to cost me a lost $200 rebate. This is what I (and many others) are getting for being long-term Lowrance customers.

Talking to anyone at Lowrance about it? roflmao You might want to rethink that one. I have yet to succeed.

Oh, it's starting to fume me up a bit. The dealer said that at the current rate of delivery of units, I could be as much as 12 MORE weeks out before I can expect to get one. So, in other words, hope for Labor Day!

Update about Lowrance Corporate: I did get a reply to my inquiry. I have an in-writing statement that Lowrance will honor rebates on purchases made during the published promotional period. This supposedly protects me from getting my rebate denied based on the submission date, which will be after I get the Active Target, whenever that may end up being.
