So I was just wondering if i am the only weirdo or is this not weird at all. I like throwing the same brand rod and reel. Like if I buy a Shimano rod I want it paired with a Shimano reel. Does anybody else feel strange about mixing brands?

I prefer it that way, all my reels are Daiwa as are a fair amount of my rods, I also have a few Falcon, Kistler, and my beater truck rod is a 13 Fishing Fate black, but its green

Not all of mine match brands...but I do make it a point to keep them as close as possible to color or finish on the rod. Nothing worse than a rod w/ red accents and a purple accented reel. AHAHAHHAHAH PS: It's hard to match brands when you have custom made rods

All my reels are Daiwa and most of my rods are also Daiwa. But I do have a few rods that are other brands.

That’s the one thing that drives me crazy with the NRX it’s really hard to color match. I wish they had a matching reel
