Never before have I held a species of fish so rare! This is a Blue Sucker, a great indicator of water quality and a Threatened species here in Texas. They're in decline throughout their entire native range and catching one has been a goal of mine since I started fishing. Great catch! I had never heard of Blue Suckers till TP&W did a video of them.

I've seen a lot of river suckers but none like the one you caught. congrats. I assume you didn't eat it?
