I would like to give a shoutout to two of my fellow teammates for their incredible win at our state championship tournament this weekend on Lake Texoma. Wyatt Schoening and Sam Semper finished in first place with just over 30 pounds over two days in a pressured lake Texoma tournament and brought home two massive trophies with $15,000 in scholarship money. The two boys along with Jake Inderman and Jack Duncan, and my partner Riley Aebi and I, who were all from Allen High school finished in 1st, 3rd, and 4th respectively. Wyatt and Sam were sitting in 22nd place after day 1 with around 12.5 pounds and were far from discouraged on being successful for day two. I remember both of them telling me about all the fish that they were able to get to follow their baits but not quite make it in the boats and I didn’t realize just how determined they were to go make it happen on day 2. During the day on day two we had ran into them on the lake and they told us they had a good limit for around 15 pounds including one around 5 pounds on a day that was much tougher for Riley and I and I knew they had a shot to run away with the win if they kept their success up. Pulling into weigh in I had gotten word that they were sitting in the lead as the process of weigh in of the top 10 from day 1 had begun and I was hoping that they either kept it or one of us other Allen teams could finish on top. After all the teams had finished weighing in these two boys had kept their lead in an exciting conclusion to weigh in. Wyatt and Sam also had an incredible finish to their senior season with top 5 finishes in the previous three tournaments. 3rd place on Hubbard in February after the snow storm, 4th place on Lavon, and 3rd place on Lewisville for the regionals event... not much more you could ask for to end your senior season in an awesome tournament trail like Texas High School Bass Association. I would also like to talk about the incredible job the people at THSBA do to set up these awesome tournaments to help get us high school anglers into this awesome sport... this trail truly sets us aspiring fishermen up to be successful in the next level and I can’t say enough good about the experience we’ve had in this trail. This weekend at state was truly a great way to top off this season for us Allen boys and wining our school title meant so much to all of us seniors and Wyatt and Sam’s win made this tournament a weekend all of us will be telling stories about for the rest of our lives. With the smallies, the storms, the slip and slide weigh in, and the stellar fishery we were blessed to enjoy, this memory is one we’ll all never forget.

Congrats on the win and the dominate performance by Allen. We would have liked to stick around and watch the final weigh in, but we were to busy trying to escape the great muddy mess.
