Wanting to either purchase a new trolling motor with spot lock or a new fish finder and forward facing sonar but can’t decide on which will be the most beneficial. I am use to not having spot lock and I like to fish brush so I am leaning towards forward facing sonar but spot lock sure would come in handy on those windy days. Please give me your thoughts and opinions. Really want to think it though before I pull the trigger and I know I haven’t thought of everything.
Tight lines and God bless.

The best innovation of fishing that I've experienced in my 35 years of boat ownership is definitely spot-lock...JMO. I will never, ever have a boat without it.

I'll have to agree.

Sonar. I have both and if I had to give one up, it would be spot lock.

Spot lock is the best addition to my boat. I use it for so much more than just sitting on a spot to fish.

I can think of several ways to spend that money that are more useful that forward sonar...and I have it. It’s not worthless, but close. At least the Active Target anyways. I have spot lock, shallow anchors, and I think I should have bought lithium batteries instead of AT.

Lithium trolling batteries are #2 on my list of best things I have ever done for my fishing- spot lock is #1.

I like my Livescope and there are times it makes a world of difference, but my last 4 trips I’ve been catching fish flipping vegetation and haven’t used it at all. I use spotlock every single time I fish.
