The best raingear you have, is what you have at the moment.. I have a set of bib and jacket from. (High Seas fowk weather gear). Stole it from ny dad in the mid 90's. Looks like I work on a crab boat, but they keep me dry. Fished Grapevine from 8am to 830pm thru the monsoon. After the morning flush it was real nice out. Don't buy anything that doesn't have bibs. When you sit down, you will get wet. You have to overlap... The basspro/cabelas high end stuff is on my radar. Have to find a deal online with the bargain cave.. I have used a trashbag from the park trashcan many a day. Got stuck in the cold and found out i took my gear out of the boat. Friend lended me some of his bibs, from basspro. They are the real deal. I think they were the grundens gore-tex. Gore-tex for sure though, and the zippers on the bibs were watertight.. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-1116-96824-20210517_090559.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-1116-96825-20210517_090542.jpg)

My BPS 100 mph suit keeps me dry but it is too heavy for 80% of the days I wear it IMO. I get hot if the temp is above 60 degrees in it. I haven't popped for the $1200 Simms ProDry yet, but Father's Day is right around the corner.

Boats are stupid expensive. Note:With custom plastic seat mod, treated the seats for water but they were not ready so I wrapped with plastic.. Boat looked like grandmothers couch yesterday..

Save your money...
Go to Academy and get their H20 rainsuit. $99 a piece...
Great vippers, velcro, etc...haven't been wet in mine for over 2 years. It hold up against the wind, rain, and stains.

Had the pro qualifier gear for years, an Army gore tex jacket and now the BPS 100 mph (got on sale during black friday). Happy with the 100 mph suit so far for the price point.

If you pay $500 plus for a suit, there is a reason you are paying that. That being said, just about everything over $500 is gonna be fine. Some are gonna be a little heavier, some lighter. No matter what you pay, if it's any type of Gore-Tex material or similar to it, you MUST treat it periodically (especially seam areas). I just sprayed mine (tent dry, camp dry) last week and will not spray it again until after next spring. I had some old Cabela's guide wear for years, but I never treated it. One day, it failed and it failed quite miserably, but it was 10 years old and I had never put anything on it. Gotta treat em every now and then.
