So the wife drove my car and she raised the seat up since I am much taller than her and I keep it all the way down. I tried to lower it when I got in and it wouldn't budge. I took the seat out and found out why. [Linked Image]

Had a GMC do something similar. Had to replace the entire frame assembly.

Encountered something similar just last week, wife drove my truck and she has to move the seat all the way forward to reach the pedals, next morning it wouldn't move back. I thought the power seat switch was bad but I could hear the motor, so after some quick internet searching this dude on YouTube said to just get a hammer and bang on the seat frame while holding the button in the back position, the gears would catch and the seat would move, after an hour of cussing and slamming several beers it finally worked.

Both front and back tilt/raise/lower gears were broke. I got them off and ordered 2 new gear kits for 70. I just wonder what causes them to break.

Update: I found online that the replacement parts would cost $70 shipped to my house though they are on national backorder until June 15th.

I called 10 or so dealers to find the part in stock. The local dealer said they could get them from a dealer in Georgetown and the price would be $125! They are using the shortage as an excuse to kill consumers. Looks like the car will be parked for a month and I will just drive my truck.

Did proper lubing talk ever break out in any of the conversations?
