Anyone else see the josh jones piece on the dobyns letter about them working on long rods? I can't wait! they are just 12 miles from the house! Crappie fishing is my fav! Livescope, old style brushpile fishing... it all overrides anything else freshwater for me! I have to force myself to leave crappie gear at home if I go bass fishing! Or else the bass fishing takes the back seat to my love for the thump! Cypress Springs crappie have moved to the docks and brushpiles finally. I found some big white crappie on Bonham a week ago on brushpiles. Yesterday I fished Crockett and found schools swimming off the main point separating the two arms. It's been a fun year already. dad's freezer is full, and my freezer is full of fillets. I've been C&R the last few times. I need stock in Bobby Garland baits, I burn through a couple packs each trip. lol.

Gotta luv that thump. Hadn't seen anything on the new Dobyns rods but I guess that shows how much crappie fishing is growing in popularity. Don't know what the price point will be for these, but still a lot of crappie fisher people who aren't going to pay $200 for one rod; me included.

I think he said it was $250. He had em on his boat this weekend but I didn’t go look at them. 14’. I believe. I can get a Sniper 13’ from Frank for $100 so it would be hard to spend $250 on a crappie rod as many as I break in a year! Be interesting to see how many pieces it is and if you can buy replacement tips!! It is awesome to see crappie fishing growing though. Maybe little man can be a full time touring pro by the time he’s older!!
